NetCraft's RSS is designed to provide clients with piece of mind that their Red Hat Linux system is running nothing but the latest versions of all software officially released by Red Hat thereby reducing significantly the ability for the system to be compromised.

Any system covered by RSS will initially undergo a comprehensive lock-down phase, to bring the system in line with NetCraft's stringent security requirements. This involves the installation of OpenSSH for secure remote access and removal of all unnecessary software. The software remaining will be upgraded to the latest versions and the configuration verified. From then on, whenever an updated software package is released by Red Hat, the server will be upgraded by one of our security consultants.
