I was born Belinda Nayda in Port Pirie, South Australia in 1975. I have three sisters Jacquie (the oldest), Amanda aka. Mandy (younger than me), and Jo-lene (the youngest).
After completing my secondary education in 1992 I moved to Adelaide to study an Engineering degree. I completed my Bachelor on Engineering in Computer Systems Engineering (with Honours) in 1996.
I started work at the Motorola Australia Software Centre in Jan 1997 as a Software Engineer. I worked mostly on projects related to the automotive industry until I discovered that I wasn't really that good at Software Engineering -- I was better at organising other people to do it and I started on the "management" path.
I spent one year in 2001-2002 as a Software Quality Engineer, then returned to automotive projects to work as a Project Lead.
In 2005 I completed my Project Management Professional qualification and in 2008 I started my Master Certificate in Project Management through the George Washington University.
While at University I met my very special sweetie (Geoffrey Bennett) and we were married in 1999 (you can see part of our novel wedding invitation here). We now have two wonderful children. Cameron was born in October 2003 and Emily was born in July 2006.
We have decided to "unschool" our two children, which basically means they won't be going to school and they won't be subjected to a curriculum at home. They will learn what they want when they want. Attending the Live and Learn Conference to find out more about unschooling was our main reason for our trip to the US in Sep 2006.
In 1999 I formally changed my name from Belinda to Lindy -- Lindy had been my nick name for as long as I can remember. The only person who called me Belinda at the time was my Mum when I was in trouble (she still does it too :-)
That's about it!
